At the age of 102, Maurice Arnoult died in Paris. He was the shoemaker of Céline and other personalities of French and European cultural scene. Of humble origins, he felt in love with a job that he wanted to transmit to the new generations from its atelier in Belleville, an historical neighborhood of immigration and class struggles. During the II World War he saved many Jews and the city of Paris gave him the title of “Righteous among the Nations”. This article is a tribute to the man.
